§ 13-179. Order to correct.

  • (a)

    Whenever the Fire Marshal shall find combustible or explosive matter or dangerous accumulations of rubbish or unnecessary accumulation of waste paper, boxes, shaving or any highly flammable materials especially liable to fire, or hazardous substances in quantity, type or combination which is situated as to endanger life or property; or shall find obstructions to or on fire escapes, stairs, passageways, doors, or windows, liable to interfere with the operations of the fire department or egress of the occupants in case of fire, or any other condition which would endanger life or property, the Fire Marshal shall order the same to be removed or remedied immediately, and such order shall be complied with by the owner or occupant of such premises or buildings.

    (b)

    Failure to comply; penalties. Any owner or occupant failing to comply with such order shall be in violation of this chapter.
