§ 13-322. Material identity markings.

  • The structure containment and ancillary tankage shall be plainly marked in conformance with NFPA standard 704. Where multiple hazardous materials are present, a single NFPA 704 diamond shall be used and it shall bear the highest applicable rating in each NFPA category, representing the most dangerous product or products stored. Such markings shall reflect the appropriate health, flammability and reactivity hazards of the materials contained. All markings within the City shall be placed upon a minimum 12-inch placard to be visible at 300 feet. In addition, holders of quantity levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 shall be marked as to specific contents and tank gallons, and on the structure and ancillary tankage.
