§ 16.50.340.1. Public educational facilities of the Pinellas County School Board.
Latest version.
The City Council may enter into an agreement with the Pinellas County School Board
to establish procedures and criteria for the review of applications for the development
or redevelopment of public educational facilities for compliance with Land Development
Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan. The agreement shall not change the notification
or public hearing requirements for site plan, variance, or special exception applications.
Recognizing that public educational facilities serve a unique purpose, the agreement
may grant standardized variances from specific Land Development Regulations which
will not exceed the special needs of the missions which public educational facilities
serve and which comply with guidelines for public educational facilities. Nothing
generally stated or implied herein shall exempt the school board from any fees, permits,
ordinances, codes or procedures which they are currently required to comply with except
as specifically stated. Such agreement shall, upon adoption, supersede the requirements
of this chapter as they pertain to the specific matters affecting public educational
facilities set forth in this chapter.
