§ 17.5-26. Adoption of the affordable housing incentive plan.

  • Within 90 days after the date of the receipt of the affordable housing incentive recommendations from the committee, the City Council shall review the report, consider the strategies as recommended by the committee and consider adopting or amending the local housing assistance plan to incorporate the recommendation of the committee for the affordable housing incentive plan. The affordable housing incentive plan shall consist of the adoption of specific initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing and a schedule for implementation and must include, at a minimum:

    (1)

    An assurance that permits as defined in F.S. § 163.3164 for affordable housing projects are expedited to a greater degree than other projects; and

    (2)

    An ongoing process for review of local policies, ordinances, regulations, and comprehensive plan provisions that significantly impact the cost of housing.
