§ 21-81. Purpose; designation required.

  • (a)

    All Charter Park Property existing as of November 29, 1990, is designated as either passive or active park or wilderness area as indicated in Ordinance No. 2022-F as codified in section 21-83.

    (b)

    Park property acquired after September 20, 1984, shall only be considered Charter Park Property if the property, and the boundaries thereof, are specifically described and designated as Charter Park Property in an ordinance specifically referencing section 1.02 of the City Charter.

    (c)

    Property designated as Charter Park Property in the future shall be designated as an active or passive park, wilderness area or nature preserve in section 21-83 at the time of designation as Charter Park Property. The designation of Charter Parks as an active or passive park, wilderness area or nature preserve is neither intended to nor shall it have any effect on uses existing as of November 29, 1990, (for Charter Park Property designated as such at that time) or the uses in place at the time of designation, whether or not such uses are consistent with the designation delineated in this article.
