§ 27-112. Inspection, repair, and replacement of meters.
(a)
All water meters shall be subject to the inspection and control of the City. Any water meter found unfit for further use shall be replaced. If the POD determines that the meter is unfit for further use due to normal wear and tear or other circumstances beyond customer control, the POD will replace the meter at no charge to the customer. If the POD determines that the meter is unfit for further use due to any form of customer tampering, then section 27-103(c) shall apply. If the customer or another party damages the meter, the customer or other party will be responsible for payment of the actual cost of repair or replacement. All meters shall be approved and installed by the POD.
(b)
The City shall have the right to remove a water meter for the purpose of inspection.
(c)
Customers requesting that an existing, above ground meter be installed below ground shall be responsible for the actual costs to relocate the meter and any related equipment below ground. Charges for such relocation shall be determined in accordance with section 27-109(e).
