§ 5-20. Membership.

  • (a)

    The AAC will consist of 12 members appointed by the Mayor with the confirmation of the City Council for a term of three years. Terms will begin on October 1 and end on September 30. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment for the balance of the term. The AAC should be comprised of one member of the City Council and the remaining members should be representatives of the visual arts, the performing arts, cultural, civic and professional organizations and fields who are of recognized public stature with demonstrated capabilities in their fields and are interested in improving the aesthetic quality of life in the City and may include the county's arts representative.

    (b)

    A chair and vice-chair shall be elected annually from the members by a majority vote of the members. A chair may serve not more than two consecutive full terms.
