§ 6-126. Taxiing operations.

  • (a)

    The pilot shall observe traffic and ensure that the area is clear before taxiing on or across any runway or taxi strip. The pilot may contact the control tower for such clearance during tower operating hours.

    (b)

    Pilots shall taxi aircraft at a safe and reasonable speed with due regard for other aircraft, persons, property, and in accordance with taxi patterns published by the POD. No aircraft shall taxi on an active runway but shall use the taxi strips unless otherwise authorized by the control tower.

    (c)

    No pilot will make an 180-degree turn of an aircraft on the runway unless directed to do so by the air traffic control tower.

    (d)

    No pilot shall taxi an aircraft into or out of any hangar under its own power. Starting or operating of aircraft engines inside any hangar is prohibited.

    (e)

    No person shall start, taxi, take off or land an aircraft at the airport unless he is certified to operate that particular type of aircraft and holds a current medical certificate or is a certified airframe and power plant mechanic, properly qualified to start and taxi that particular type of aircraft.
