§ 8-163. Plumbing systems and equipment.

  • No person shall occupy, let to another for occupancy or allow another person to occupy any dwelling unit for the purpose of living, sleeping, cooking or eating therein, which does not comply with the following requirements:

    (1)

    All plumbing facilities and fixtures shall be connected to the public sewer system. All water shall be supplied through the public potable water supply.

    (2)

    Each dwelling unit shall have a specific kitchen area and shall have hot and cold running water supplied to the kitchen area.

    (3)

    Each dwelling unit shall have a sink, counter, and space for a stove installed in accordance with the Florida Building Code.

    (4)

    Each dwelling unit shall have a bathroom area which shall be connected to a hot and cold running water supply and shall contain a lavatory, a low-flow toilet, bathtub or shower. The bathroom area must be enclosed as a self-contained room.

    (5)

    All plumbing fixtures shall be maintained in a state of good repair and good working order.

    (6)

    All required plumbing fixtures shall be located within the dwelling unit and be accessible to the occupants thereof.
