Latest version.
  • The City Charter requires the creation of a Citizen's Redistricting Commission which is charged with recommending changes to councilmember election districts (currently in Charter Section 5.06(d)). As required by the Charter, if the City Council (1) does not approve an ordinance redistricting the City as recommended by the Citizen's Redistricting Commission or (2) does not reject the Commission Report by a unanimous vote of all Councilmembers and redistrict the City in accordance with a City Council ordinance, then the councilmember election districts shall automatically be changed in accordance with the Citizen's Redistricting Commission Report and this City Code Chapter shall be amended accordingly.
