§ 21-56. Radio-controlled model power boats.

  • The following restrictions regulate the use of radio-controlled model power boats within the City:

    (1)

    Privately owned water body. Radio-controlled model power boats shall not be operated in, on, or upon any privately owned water body without the written permission of an owner of the water body or an owner of property abutting the water body.

    (2)

    Governmentally-owned water body. The following restrictions shall apply to the operation of radio-controlled model power boats on governmentally-owned water bodies:

    a.

    Radio-controlled model power boats shall not be operated in, on, or upon any governmentally-owned water body other than City-owned water bodies as provided in this section.

    b.

    The operation of radio-controlled model power boats on City owned water bodies is prohibited except on the following water bodies on the days and during the hours set forth:

    1.

    Ruby Lake between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. only on Fridays and Saturdays.

    2.

    Woodlawn Lake.

    3.

    Lake Maggiore in Lake Maggiore Park.

    4.

    Lake Eli in Lake Maggiore Park.

    5.

    Blue Heron Lake.

    c.

    The operation of electric, low noise radio-controlled model power boats shall be permitted on City-owned water bodies in the following Parks during normal park hours:

    1.

    Booker Creek Park.

    2.

    Bartlett Park.

    3.

    Childs Park.

    4.

    Eagle Crest Lake Park.

    5.

    Fossil Park.

    6.

    Lake Vista Park.

    7.

    Mirror Lake Park.

    8.

    Sheffield Lake Park.

    9.

    Sirmons Lake Park.

    10.

    Viking Lake in Meadowlawn Park.

    11.

    Walter Fuller Park.

    12.

    Dell Holmes Park.
