Article II. ARTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE |
§ 5-21. Responsibilities.
(a)
The duties of the AAC shall be to advise the Mayor and City Council when requested or on its own initiative concerning the following:
(1)
Such proposals as are deemed constructive toward the preservation and improvement of the physical beauty of the City.
(2)
Concerning arts and cultural considerations during any update or amendment of the comprehensive plan for the City.
(3)
In determining public expenditures for the use or advancement of the arts in the City, excluding those reviewed by the Public Arts Commission.
(4)
On public art proposed for acquisition by the City for installation on City property or on other properties within the City, excluding those proposed by the Public Arts Commission.
(b)
Additional duties of the AAC shall be:
(1)
To communicate to the Mayor and City Council concerning any matters and issues relating to the artistic and cultural climate or assets of the City.
(2)
To develop and present to the Mayor and City Council a recommendation concerning the status and need for review or updating of the cultural action plan for the City that will accomplish all the City's goals pertaining to the arts and culture in the City.
(3)
To assist the Mayor and the City Council with the implementation and maintenance of the cultural action plan approved by the Mayor and City Council.
